Cosmic, Spring Break and possibly Sirens and Rat Trap will be playing team polo from 9am tomorrow at Downs, I expect it'll be over at lunchtime? Or people could keep playing in teams all day if they wanted to? Joni you should come along, although 5 teams will be pushing it (I don't know if Sirens or Rat Trap are definites though).
Team polo should be the priority right now, but most of it goes on in private because of throw-ins being the "norm".
Many players are now voicing their frustrations at the lack of team polo and it's a shame that things end up being organised privately (as it fragments our community).
I'd like to see a dedicated team polo court on a certain day (days?), where any group of 3 is welcome to turn up, but individual players would have to wait for another two individual players to turn up before playing.
The current situation is that throw-ins are being abandoned by a few players in favour or private team games, this helps re-enforce the status quo and makes it difficult for newer teams to join in.
This probably needs it's own thread (we have one somewhere I think), it'd be nice to hear people's opinions.
Positives: No more secret polo? London teams get better? Easier (with less stigma) to organise team games?
Negatives: Some individual players may need to find team mates? Players that can only play at the weekends won't be able to play competitive throw-ins?
