I'm not sure I wish to do everything a ref tells me throughout the tournament, that could be abused, but during play, yes, even if/when they are wrong.
There are a lot of rules, so knowing them all exactly might be a problem, but if you have a good knowledge of them and a copy of them that should be enough for a player/ref. The only time you're going to need to resort to the write up is for something weird anyway.
