Great day - apart from the crashes! My first ever taste of 'racing' and managed to get through to the final race. Managed to lose the main pack in the second race and found no way to catch up on my own with the terrible wind up the back straight. I still did the distance though!
I usually ride with a front brake but to be honest this was totally fine. There were no corners where speed needed to be significantly dropped at all. The only issue was people not riding with proper etiquette. I witnessed two people doing skids, a crash and numerous people taking a racing line (in the pack) whilst I was riding in the races. A lot of people just didn't have any awareness of the riders around them. I'm lucky to have not crashed myself as I had to actually swerve off onto the grass to avoid colliding with the riders going down in front of me during the crash.
It was nice meeting everyone and I would ride this again!
I believe the dude at 3:17-3:20 in the video knows what he's doing.
