Greetings folks,
Well what a lovely day...
I hooked up with the Tokyo Fixed lot outside their shop and had a great ride out to Hillingdon. It was funny I was I think the only one with a brake on my bike and certainly the only one rocking a high vis vest...! But inspite of that, they let me come along which was great. On the run in to the circuit I met a couple who had come down from Leeds especially for this, the girl of which entered the first heat, so big respect to them and all others for making the journey...
I had a nice time just sitting on a bench on the main finishing straight and watching all the people whizzing around the circuit. I stayed for the first heat, then was feeling the cold rather, so decided to go back in to town and just get some miles under my belt. I met a few people in tweed coming back from their ride, so was thinking what a great day to be on a bike and what a great day for cycling in London.
41 miles done for the day and having been out in that weather since 10 am, I felt tired and weather beaten but happy as I reached home.
Great work to all the organisers. Hillingdon circuit is a lovely little gem, tucked behind Southall's main shopping area.
Thanks again for letting me tag along on the ride out there.
Peace and love to one and all,
Tim
