    Yes, the Inquisition.

  • Prometheus.
Not quite as good as his best efforts.

  • ^^ you shut your dirty mouth!

  • anyone seen the new tim burton / johnny depp mash-up. is it like all the others?

Ive not heard positive stuff about it. But I'm still gonna see it just for the sake of it!

  • Honestly it's fucking tiring seeing Tim Burton directing another film with surprise surprise, Johnny Depp.

The staw that broke the camel's back was the terrible adaption of Alice in Wonderland, well, 'sequel', even his latest animation was a trifle dull (Corpse's Bride), especially after The Fantastic Mr Fox and Coraline easily outslurp it.

The last one I enjoyed was Sweeney Todd, that's about it.

Yes, more of the same it does seem these collaborations have got a little tired. I hadn't realised Dark Shadows was originally a TV series in the US.
Not a must see be any means, but it does have a few good bits. The story does seem a little all over the place. Again Depp does seem to overact it. For me seeing Eva Green on the big screen again is probably what makes it watchable.

Agreed. But there are worse films out there.

    Very excited. It'll be great.

  • I just watched Breathless on DVD. It's a Korean film, that is utterly, unrelentingly gloomy. It starts off and follows a quite unlikeable main character, but as with many Korean films, the pacing is beautifully judged, and one gains an understanding and a sliver of empathy with the villainous lead. Actually, it's a very good film. Recommended, as long as you're not after a feel-good movie.

Oh yes, it is also nearly unendingly violent,.......though always in context.

  • And I followed that up with an absolutely amazing film, 71: Into the Fire. Yet another Korean film, that it quite simply the best film I have seen in ages. It's a war film, based on the true story of how, when North Korea invaded South Korea, one sector was guarded by 71 student soldiers.

    10/10

  • Last night I watch both Dark Shadows and The Raid.

Once again Tim Burton is able to guarantee his wife some work as well as helping his old pal Johnny. I was impressed to see an ageless Michelle Pfeiffer (looking older but still hot in a milf kind of way) as well as Jonny Lee Miller. Eva Green was very good in her role and the supporting cast were adequate enough.

Can this be the end of these collaborations now, Tim? Thanks.

The Raid was fantastic. It had all of the action you'd need for at least six months and the plot is a little far-fetched, but still relatively plausible. I'd recommend that those whi're affected by witnessing violent scenes should give it a wide berth, but if you enjoy that sort of thing then go for it.

I liked it and would see it again. Probably tonight.

  • I agree totally Bodie but no-one ever says that about Wes Anderson and Bill Murray! I guess the Burton/Depp one is a little more blatent. Looking forward to seeing both films after I get paid anyway.

  • planning on seeing The Raid on tuesday after work.

Last night i watch Apollo 18. fuck my face that was shite.
