  • The closing date for entries is getting close: Tuesday 15th May. (date of event-Sunday 27th May)

This is a classic event which in the past has been won by some of the biggest names in the sport. It is on the fast Farnham – Alton course, which shouldn’t pose problems for anyone brave enough to ride fixed.

Last year’s winner was Adam Topham (High Wycombe CC) who finished in 3.38.46, putting almost three minutes into former BBAR Nik Bowdler. This was a pretty amazing performance since it was only the third 100 he had ever ridden.

There are only a few 100’s left in the CTT calendar now, and even fewer within reasonably easy reach of London, so this one is well worth thinking about. Although entries are up on this time last year it's not likely that we'll get a full field, so if you get your entry in by the 15th, you are pretty well guaranteed a ride.

If there’s anyone who still hasn’t got the CTT handbook and wants to enter, send me a p.m. and I will give you the necessary details.

An afterthought: In view of the proposed forum BAR (see above) a few of you are thinking about riding a 50. This may seem a long way to the uninitiated, but if you've already ridden a 100, even if you didn't get inside 5 hours, you'll be able to look at the 50 in a different light. You may be able to think:how fast can I go? rather than: will I be able to finish?
