Is it the command "open" that is the problem? Have you tried: sudo vi /etc/hosts ? BTW, if that works, then to exit it is: :q Which is a colon and then a q.

when i try:
sudo vi/etc/hosts
i just get the same error:
-bash: sudo: command not found Install sudo?
-bash: sudo: command not found
Install sudo?
how would i go about doing that?
