  • are the cx rays the bladed spokes? When I said gain I meant the quality of the hub and smooth bearings? I'm no expert so I just thought they must be better due to the price tag... Rookie mistake?

CX Rays are really lightweight and aero spokes. the best steel spokes there are, just £3 each. Rose Cycles has DT Revo's really cheap, like 45p each, im not sure how, since everywhere else is twice that. they are really thin butted spokes 1.5 centre thickness, but on 32h they should be plenty stiff enough.

I know what you meant. They sure are better quality, but not much so in the way of function, the bearings are just bearings, they literally cost pennies. You can get ceramic bearings for £20-30 each. "Round to within 10 millionths and twice as round as top of the line Dura Ace". I doubt you can work out any real world difference, but they sure sound good.

Just grab some open pros or similar solid build rim, on one hubs and double butted spokes. - adds upto £145. You'd spend this much alone on dura ace hubs, CX rays or ceramic bearings.
