Good news, Arben.
^^ Not the first such theft from LMNH, iirc. It's an obvious target.

JUST GOT MY BIKE BACK!!!

Quick tip if you don't have locks, but you do have quick-release. simply release your wheel(s) and put your fork(s) through the spokes, will keep 'em just that tad longer busy.

Well, his face comes out quite clearly in that video, so let's hope it can count as evidence.
He seems to behave suspiciously from the start and is clearly there to steal a bike, and not just an opportunist, although getting an unlocked bike is of course an opportunist act. Perhaps he had tools in his backpack, too.
he seems like he went there with a mission, he eyed up the bike as soon as the guy got off it. He went inside for about 5 seconds, and no further than the doorway. I admit I'm guilty of leaving my bike like that, no more though.
He came on a Boris Bike and left it just out of camera resting against the gate, as everyone on twitter has suggested, he will be traceable through that. Assuming he didn't steal it or use a stolen card to get it. -

Wonder what he did with that?

29-Apr was a Sunday. straight to brick lane. shift the heat.

No I mean with the hire bike. Hopefully he had it out on his card and some fucker robbed that and threw it in the canal.

congrats on getting your bike back.
can't you give us a bit more detail on how you managed to get it back? please don't tease us with such little information! i hate these short success stories, we want to know how you managed to retrieve it!

Post hoc reasoning there, OS - If he hadn't stolen the bike, would the same behaviour have been considered suspicious?
Post post(ed) hoc - it's a video posted in the stolen bikes thread after all. ;)

Just had my brown Brooks Team Pro Alpe D'Huez saddle stolen.
Thieves easily cut through the kryptonite cable lock but either didn't want to or couldn't remove the 2 x Kryptonite Evolution locks on the rest of the bike. It was parked outside the Barbican. Kind of ruined my ride home after 5 amazing hours of Philip Glass opera : (
I bought it second hand from the forum last year. This is it:

It has an identifiable scratch on the corner and slight rub on the nose.
Hopefully it pops up somewhere.....

oh god, really sorry to hear that kat... that saddle is very characteristic, I'm sure it will pop up somewhere soon.

Thanks Martin. Fingers crossed.... but I am so annoyed it was even on that bike. I recently broke a saddle and my spare is with a friend, so this really lovely Brooks was never meant to be on my everyday bike for long. Not that this in anyway condones the theft....... arse.

As well, anyone parking up at LMNH without a lock, they have shop locks that you can borrow. (not sure if everyone notices these...)

Just had my vintage Peugeot bike stolen outside the costcutter on 246 Hackney road, at the junction with Queensbridge road, opposite the Marksman pub.
it's a 61 cm two tone dark and light blue reynolds 753 steel frame, the words 'hand brazed' are written in yellow on the top tube, the word 'Chorus' next to the 753 decal on the top tube is covered with a world champion stripe sticker. It's built up with full 7410 series Dura Ace groupset, including a 100mm quill stem, AX series handlebars, mavic open SUP rims, black Time ATAC pedals, black stripped flite saddle, black leather bar tape, if you see slap a lock on it and call zero7952 six96796.
Stupidly I hadn't locked it just leant it against the railing as I was just inside for 2 seconds, that's all it took, the thief must have been watching me go inside.
Thanks.
Here's a picture of the frame:

anybody missing a dolan?
Relisted despite the first listing with winning bid yesterday. Same pics.

Guy already has one feedback along the lines of "sold goods then wouldn't deliver and relisted them to sell again". Also, his feedback seems to be private, so I'm not sure how he can continue to sell?
Anyone got a shill ebay account they can bid him up to thousands then royally screw him around?

And that's after I said I didn't think it was a good idea leaving outside the kebab shop!
I'll tell my girlfriend as we live just along the road.
Good luck; it's a bloody lovely bike.

^^ Also, my girlfriend pointed out that a lot of dossers hang around there from the sort of half-way-house just along the road from there. I think it's the one which backs onto Columbia Road that had a recent problem with prostitution and drugs.
