Prometheus, Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, The Bourne Legacy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Raid, The Amazing Spider-man.
You sound like the perfect companion for my very, very single 22 yr old nephew. If you can talk for hours about mobile phones. football and Family Guy then it would be a dream date.

22 year old with the taste of a 15 year old.
What's the world coming to? -
• #5905
Yeah I think it is to early to say about Skyfall. Plus Sam Mendes is directing it so it can't be crap.Plus check out the Bond girl - Berenice Marlohe.
"Pick and pump".

A matter of life and Death has just started on film 4
I am in this film; well my avatar is..
Well worth bunking off for, though perhaps not quiet as good a film as Colonel Blimp; which is re released in a new print next month.
All Powell and Pressburger movies are brilliant and that is the end. Thank you
Canterbury tale is my fave

Red Shoes and Black Narcissus are mine

Prometheus, Skyfall, The Bourne Legacy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Literally foaming at the gills in anticipation of these, although the early reports of The Hobbit's weird high framerate picture concerns me.

I really want to see some of the 48fps footage, struggling to imagine what it looks like. Doesn't seem to be much online either
-
• #5911
General reports of Hobbit 48fps is that it looks like a TV special..

Red Shoes and Black Narcissus are mine
Ahh, the girly ones... ;)

The surreal ones.
Just watched Franklyn. Quite enjoyable London spotting and visually rich depiction of schizophrenia. Looked low budget in a Dr who way. Good seeing susanna York and art malik in cameo roles.

I did go see "Lockout" earlier this week.
I think a film about space-prison generally sets the bar quite low, but it still managed to fall short of my expectation.
But still, a bit of light-hearted relief.

Watched 12 Monkeys again
Forgot what a visionary Terry Gilliam is
and how gruelling that film is.
Now to re-watch Brazil -

Just watched this:

I know not everyone is a Herzog fan, but I enjoyed it. Not quite up to his usual standard IMO but still excellent.

The Cabin in the Woods is brilliant. lots of fun
-
• #5919
I saw it last night and was just coming here to post about it.
Wasn't impressed. Lots of flickers of interesting ideas about the alienation of those making decisions involving violence and death, reality TV, and breaking the fourth wall and addressing the process of making and watching horror films. But none of them really came to fruition, I thought it kind of fell between the stools of being funny, being scary, and being clever and didn't come through with any really.
Thought Troll Hunter did the funny horror thing much much better, and Funny Games the whole viewer interaction and expectation thing.
Disappointed.
