He was a bit of an idiot. I worked at the dept of health when he was health secretary. He insisted his Christmas message to the staff itself a nice touch, was personally sent by mail, to each and every member of staff to make it more 'personal' taking on the extra temp staff to do that (of which I was one) and paying for the postage, cost the tax payer over a million quid. And of course it was no more personal than if he had emailed the damn thing. Most went straight in the bin.

I still reckon he would have beaten Norris if Ken hadn't been there. And Johnson may not be mayor now.
