I think the Seat Tube has put people off on this so I'm putting this out for any offers.
Have looked into how much getting the seat tube professionally repaired would be by sending Dave Yates some hi-res images to ask what kind of repair would be possible and price, this is the reply:
Hi
Thanks for your email. We should be able to repair the tube by brazing a patch over the cut/crack - we can only give a firm cost on inspecting the frame but an estimate would be £25. Attempting to match the paint using our system would not be cheap (approx £100) and we couldn't guarantee an exact match and your frame would have to be fuly stripped down, no dirt or grease reamaining.
Regards
Debbie
I can forward the original emails to whomever wishes. The paint matching around the area to be welded is expensive and I think could be done quite easily and cheaper by someone else, but that's how much the pro job at Yates is. I think it's quite a localised repair and could be done without too much damage to any of the intricate bits of paint.
I'm pretty thick so I'd just ride it as is with a very long seatpost and a wee St. Christopher medallion round my ballsack. But as it is, seems like a cheap repair and afterwards you can suckle on the teat of the mighty earthmother Nago like a boss.
In the event that anyone is interested in just F+F, or F+F plus headset/BB that can be done as in that case I'd be tempted to keep the groupset for my Gazelle.
Hope this helps and any interest/offers please get in touch.
