Don't know if this has been posted yet, the article itself is fairly meh but there are some well-written comments from all sides.

Unfortunately I can't get down this evening, but would really like to cover this (I'm working for a site based around change and protest at the moment) - if anyone takes photos/video at the event, can you drop me a line? (ljames@vocativ.com/07958 315 594?)

what news from the front?

I went out of curiosity as I work right next to it.
John Griffin actually came out and confronted the mob, couldn't hear much. Everyone called him a wanker and he went back in. Seemed to be some press there too.

Done and dusted,
There where quite a lot of cabbies there too, which was nice. A strange partnership..

Was lying down, so not many snaps. Some sort of point was made... Nice to get the cheers and toots from the black cabs for once. I sense an alliance

Signed, although can't help thinking we need insurance in case we damage the poor unfortunate lorries and cabs that collide with us.

"Careful now"
"Down with this sort of thing"
Would have been good banners.
I thought Mr. Griffin may have come out to address this in person, it's a shame he wasn't allowed the courtesy to at least have his say.
He might have been apologising and offering everyone a coffee and donut but you'll never know if everyone was shouting things at him like "wanker" and "nasty man"... -

Barclays oddly supporting AL.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/barclays-funds-addison-lee-drive-to-take-advantage-of-olympics-7585032.htmlTo be fair, that article was posted last month, so I somewhat doubt the feeling is still mutual.

So something good comes of this AL nonsense.
Let's capitalise on this unlikely alliance!

An interesting moment. The black cabs union bosses were there. They said they will be doing their own protest and came to support 'the cyclists'. Quite a lot of press. Burly security guards standing outside addison lee HQ . Small police presence. Griffin came out and repeated the crap he wrote their magazine. Des gave a short speech and a poem. I offered free cycle training to any addison lee driver. The rain held off.
