Crikey. How much time do you have available for removing / tightening shoes? Tries my patience just evening up the laces with normal parallel lacing.

Can anyone recommend a decent cobbler to fit new leather and wood soles onto a set of Paul Smith brogues? preferably central or east london. I dont want to spend a fortune, but dont mind paying for a proper job.

I've got a pair of very good brown leather lace ups. When I bought them, the toe 'cap' (leather) and heal piece were both polished to shine, and the bit inbetween was matt.

How can I get that look again? Is it two different polishes or just adapting polishing style? And is brown polish or clear better for the effect?

get "Parade Gloss" if you want a real shine, and follow the instructions

do you know where i can pick some up? anywhere between victoria and stoke newington would work.

Any supermarket, it is just a shoe polish made by (I think) kiwi.

Spittle.
Good quality (oily) polish.
Small circles.
One index finger.
Cotton cloth.
Many, many hours.

Military background helps heaps.

Thanks. Not sure i fancy military service just for shoe polishing skills, but will give it some consideration.!
