FFS - £9.3 billion and the best news I've seen is "Be thankful it's not £24 billion".
4 times over budget, a wanktastic ticket allocation to ensure nobody can see just how many tickets went to bankers, chums etc, patronising ads on the tube to say "feck off and walk to work if you didn't get a ticket to our summer banker jolly".
The best example and demonstration of just what a load of propoganda and bullshit this is are the special laws being brought in to stop anyone standing up and saying what a bad idea this is.
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of a global sports event, where physical excellence is exulted and used to motivate and inspire generations into sporting endeavour.
It's just nothing like that exists.
Instead we have the tacky money-making twatathon where sporting endeavour is used as a vehicle for a bunch of PR twats, logo designers, parasitic banks and politico chums to variously put a load of tax coffer money in their pockets for doing a substandard job, whitewash their harm to society, and have a good time at our expense.
And we've all got to behave like the Emperor's new clothes are really splendid.
