I wouldn't class Wigan as vastly inferior to Arsenal nor Chelsea as vastly inferior to Barcelona.
On what criteria do you judge? Artistic?
Football has but one test and that is the number of goals scored. One team may have more talented individual players than another, but unless they can combine to score more goals, they cannot be described as superior whether vastly or otherwise. Football is a team game not a talent contest.
