Maybe you could try making yourself a reservation on the train?
I was chatting to a guy last year who was saying he tried to get the train the year before, and ended up spending most of the day on the platform. Can't remember which station he was trying to get on at though.

I don't think LFGSS will do one this year.
It was mentioned last year that Southwark are going to change their coach system so that it runs continuously from 9am through to the afternoon.
But taking on such a thing is far less compelling this year if Southwark are actually running coaches back as and when they fill them up.
I would expect a rolling service again, with an earlier start and leaving when the bike truck is full. Possibly not as early as 9am, I want a swim and a pint before I start the loading !

Im with digger, thinking about it.
Part of what made it so special was being forced to wait, which meant that we would all gather together, as a group and enjoy the aftermath of the ride. Sitting in the pub with all my close friends looking like I was going to die, but inside I was all warm and fuzzy.
If we just got on a bus and left as we got there, there wouldnt be the bonding we had last year.

I shall be riding this on my SS Karate monkey as it's my only working bike at the moment. I also dont have any road wheels or spare tyres so I'm just going to ride with my tubeless knobblies and gear the bike high(er).
Judging by what people have said about the coach issues, I think I may cycle back to London too..probably after a days rest!
Do many others entertain it with a MTB?

Really looking forward to this.
My knees were in all sorts of bother for a few days after last year's effort - have decided that a small dose of HTFU should see me right this year.
Just looking for transport back now as the people I set off with last year either can't or won't make it this...
No, I couldnt.
