That could be a good start I suppose.
But if the computer can see that it's plugged in, and the light for the mains power is on, could it be a problem with the charger?

Wow, my 1st reps for doing something useful, rather than amusing.
Don't make a habbit of this. We frown on usefulness.

Pretty soon I'm going to take the leap and get my first singlespeed bike, so I'm gonna hit you all with the cliche statements now to get them out of the way- my budget for this one is £200 top, once I get to grip with things I'd like to build my own over the summer, I don't have much experience, apart from scrolling through this forum for the past couple of weeks, is it a charge I want as a basic first bike, I'm 6ft...etc etc.
So when I do post that message in the Wanted section -what is it that I should be looking for, what makes, what specs. ?
Any help would be appreciated - I tend to overthink these things.
I'm based in Clapham btw so will be heading to the south beers just as soon as I have a bike to get me there -

With a budget of £200 you should just make a list of the things you'll need and await replies. Have you got the frame already? £200 really isn't much when you factor in frame/wheels/crankset.

No I haven't got anything, I don't want to build just yet, not until I've learnt some more stuff about building etc. At the moment I just want a bike to use for the time being.

Then just post a wanted thread.

Measuring Crank Arms
Sorry for the daft question!
When measuring the length of crank arms to I measure from end to end, i.e. the total length or do I measure from center to center i.e from the middle of the two holes, pedal and BB?
Thanks in advance

Well I was posting here to ask for general advice as to a first bike before writing a wanted ad that probably wouldnt go anywhere as I don't know what to ask for. Obviously didn't make this clear in first post.

Yes, it could. My laptop (mac) had exactly this problem. New charger fixed it.

If you take the charger into PC world they can test the power pack for you to identify whether or not it is faulty

Having just tried to install a sram red crankset on my shimano BB it is obvious that the two are incompatible.
What decent quality, well priced BB would you recommend that is compatible with my new crankset?
