Speaking not long ago to an insurer who specialises in esoteric motoring risks such as ice cream vans and taxis.
In hardened economic times they see an increase in claims. Their research shows that this is because taxi drivers spend more time plying for trade and looking at pedestrians who may be possible fares and therefore take their eyes off the road.
Worth bearing in mind. Worth being a little more cautious around black cabs in these tough economic times.
