My thoughts exactly. Halo are just another generic rebadger of Taiwanese product as far as I can tell. I can't imagine they'd go to the expense of using thinner material on the non-machined ones. I used mine for about a year, on the back, and I'm heavy, and now MG has it and it's fine. And I've seen several others using brakes on them.
