I was worried about that too as they seemed softer than my other wheels but my rims seem to be fine so far. Rear is second hand polo and front is brand new - this took time to 'break in' due to the anodising but I'd done it before on my non-machined fixed wheelset. The only thing I will probably do is upgrade my pads as I'm worried about wear... hmm did the site mention anything specific or just generic warning?
