Since I bent by S500, I'm in the market for a replacement but suffering choice paralysis.
I don't have the alfine hub in a wheel at the moment and am just running a freehub with single speed conversion kit, but it would be nice if the replacement also worked with the alfine hub should I ever get the wheel rebuilt.
So, a chain tensioner which hangs off the derailleur hangar but which will work with both alfine hub gear and SS freehub. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it better to go for a one jockey wheel or two?
The Shimano Alfine CT-S500 has been discontinued.
The CT-S510 requires the axle as used with the Alfine or Nexus, which has flat sides as seen here:
