Lae, it is fairly smooth and pit-free, just a little lumpy. It's hard to get a file round where 3 different sized tubes meet. Time for the mini-drill and some small grinding stones!
I was thinking of a brown. My daughter is quite adamant it should be red (I have already denied her pink). I might go for rattle-can black initially, for the Tweed Run, to match my wife's bike, then maybe a nice powder coat.
