  • I'm after some old short cranks for polo. 160 or 165 would do I think. I'm striking too much on 175 even clipless (fell off twice today because of that)

5 arm 110 BCD square spindle would be a perfect fit, but other things might work.

  • Or a freewheel?

  • Touché

  • A 22 tooth freewheel is also something I want.

  • I'll 'ave a look at freewheels today and see if we've got a 22T one man, should be cheep

  • BLB used to sell them I think.

  • Their website is shit to navigate, here does them though, you'll have to check on shipping, seems forrun with funny speaking and stuff. Or get a WI one and look like a pimp.

  • WI - £73.99
    BLB - €22 + €22.70 shipping
Shimano crankset with smaller rings - £18.37

    sigh

Then again, the red WI match the decals/cables on my frame... I'll just have to keep buying lottery tickets until I can afford it, right?

  • But the WI you want is the green one (trials) so the simple solution is a new frame and cable set to match.

  • and cranks. (they only make them in 18t)

but the noise alone will be worth it.

  • Could you contact BLB and see if they have them in?

  • Words cannot express how awesome this is...

  • for polo?

  • nah, we should all switch to tall bikes for polo, that way if you foot-down, then you go face-down

  • Does anyone have an old mtb triple chainset? I've seen this ones on ebay 1 2 3
But I've you have a cheaper second hand one would be great.
Do you think this could work in my bike? I think so but want to be sure.
My back freewheel have 22 teeth. What one would you choose? The one with the small 28 teeth or the 24's one?

  • personally id go 36t with a 22t freewheel.

  • with a 22t rear you'd want about 34 front I reckon, have a play on here and aim for 40-45 GI

  • 36 is better, just checked

  • I'm using 34/22 on a 700c and it's nippy enough on the court. 32-36 should be alright for your bike (what size are your wheels?)

  • I have an old square taper truvativ triple if that's any use.

    edit 175mm 22,32,44

  • this could be pretty good with a 38t, look a bit crappy but I'm sure they were selling the same things in wills wheels on the A6 for a fair bit more money. GI would be 44.5 which is damn close to mine depending on tyre size.

  • spend a few quid extra on something decent, have better cranks to enjoy and save money later.

  • His bike cost £50

  • indeed £40...
At the moment I'm riding a 36/22 and I find it a bit hard for bike polo. I'd like a softer one to be able to start quicker from stop position.

Sorry rhb who are you? which is the small chain ring?

  • Could you bring it to polo? I think that tomorrow I will go down. are you?
