Any recommendations for a pre-roundhouse meal in the Camden/Chalk Farm area? Cheap, tasty, cheerful.

Bento Cafe down in Camden Town on Parkway, a nice 15 min walk up to Roundhouse after your meal. Japanese and if you order sensibly, can be cheap enough.

The taqueria at La Bodega Negra is nothing special, food is pretty uninspiring and bland. The chorizo they used tastes like a limp breakfast sausage (mrs jaw's words).
I'd still be tempted to go and book the main restaurant but won't be in a rush to do so. -

Planning to go 8 July. The weather should be nice by then as well and just before the jazz festival, so hopefully not too busy.

I shall partake in a Pintxo trail and raise a glass with the West Ham-supporting bar owner I found out there a couple of years back.

Has anyone eaten at Dabbous? Giles Coren gave it rave reviews a month an a bit ago. It is also very reasonable so I rang to book earliest weekend table... 7th September. This week AA Gill gave it 5 stars on both accounts. And said Wayne Rooney was more likely to get a table than for anyone to get a table there. Can wait for September!

They're meh, used to have them when I was living in Clerkenwell.
Pizza and burgers I would generally not recommended, but that's all I remembered.

My one day off this week is tomorrow. I'm looking for somewhere to take the missus and have been suggested Morito. Want somewhere half decent where I won't have to book. Suggestions?

No but the bar downstairs is perhaps the most cnutish of any opened in the west end in the last decade or so. Thoroughly put me off eating there.

Any ideas for somewhere to eat near the Albert Hall/South Ken/Knightsbridge? Something not too bank-breaking. Turkish/Lebanese perhaps?
Thanks! -

Hala on Green Lanes has never failed me.
