That could be nice.

Remember to chose top tube length instead of seat tube length when buying one of those. Trick bikes have loooong top tubes as they're designed with a stumpy stem in mind

em, re: the new website. This is how it looks on my computer. There seems to be some colour merge going on at the top, and the heading picture has a white bar in the top left that looks strange. Perhaps its just my computer or that i'm running firefox...
I'm keen to get people moved to this asap, but it still seems like its in test mode. Is this site finished as far as you're concerned?hey guys, the website should look like this:
i think it still needs finishing off, im sure Ems on it

I don't have the flare bits at the side :(

The white bars were in Ste's design but there's a little tweaking to be done on the visuals but the important functionality is there.

I want it full screen tbh, but we've got this discussion on the other site, log on and get suggesting.

do it like that if youd prefer, im not too precious about the design

The design style should stay, just seems odd mounting it on a kind of background when most other sites are full screen or if they are centred then it's not on a contrasting colour. It would probably free up a bit of screen real estate too and make things feel a little less cramped.

you seem to have a strong image of what you would prefer, im slightly insulted but you cant please all the people all the time

Don't mean to be insulting man. I like the design style just not the way it's squished into the middle. Seems like it's wasting the space down the sides. Can it not be kept looking the same but spread out a little?

The same, but different. Next you'll be wanting some zing and pop...

It has to be accessible for people with the smallest monitor size, a compromise of this is 1024x768 (some people have smaller) that means you dont want content going an wider that 960px

Are there methods of scaling to fit?
-
• #1270
worpress supports liquid layout, you have to ask Em if he can implement it into the Drupal site, you shouldnt have to if it set up properly in the first place, have a look at any popular site made for the masses www.channel4.com or similar it sits in that width, this site lfgss.com grows with your browser window, this is just a forum though
-
• #1271
Don't you use percentages instead of pixel sizes?
(That could be bollocks though.)
-
• #1272
ok check out this simple blog see how when you drag the scale of your browser window from wide to narrow it rearanges and scalles the content, it will never go bigger that the set size though, so even on a huge monitor it would still stay the same size centered, this is how ours should work http://earlrrichardson.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/things-i-saw-on-thursday/

I don't know details, just kinda thinking out loud. We should probably put all this stuff on the other site though.

this is why i find it so frustrating though, people are so quick to suggest changes and ideas, i really cant deal with constantly having to fight my corner to justify things
