I used to ride DP18's on my beater, also built onto a XT/Tomicog setup, and they're really strong, however it gives for a stiff, unpleasant ride (it realy carries through the vibrations) in comparison to something lower such as some Open Pro's or CXP 33's, so it depends on where you'll use the bike. Lots of stoplights and rougher roads? Go for something low, as the Mach1 rim you posted.
The bolt on cogs run great though, I definitely recommend it. Make sure you space the hub right with the lugged alu construction to avoid any chance of them working loose.
