2.5 kg seems really heavy. I'm no expert on the subject, but ~600g more than the on-one 120mm set above, which is fairly inexpensive and not really particularly lightweight as far as I can gather, just seems like a lot. Of course the Gipiemme are ~15mm deeper, but 600g just really is a lot. Apart from the frame, I don't see any single component (okay, it's two wheels, but still) on a bike where you would be able to save that much weight and for very little money as well.
