The West London sessions happening on Wednesday at Westway Sports Centre for the next seven weeks are primarily aimed at beginners.
Sean from Oxford runs the sessions. He doesnt post on here much, but he has built TWO excellent loaner bikes in conjunction with the crew at Bikeworks in Ladbroke Grove (http://www.bikeworks.org.uk/). These are stored at the Westway and are available every Wednesday.
There are mallets and balls available too - so all you have to do is turn up.
It is a large court with a smooth surface, with floodlights until 10pm.
Probably the best court in London, so it is an excellent place to start learning.
Afterwards, you can bring your bike onto the Circle & District Lines at Latimer Road station, I've done it twice now with no hassle from Underground staff, they are very decent about it. Its good to have this option, even if it doesnt get you all the way home it takes a large chunk of the journey off.
There are usually a few experienced players at the sessions, to help you out and give you a loan of a bike that is more suited to polo.
(Not trying to take people away from Peckham - just giving people an option to come to a session that might be closer to them if they live north or west).
Check the last page of http://www.lfgss.com/thread14038.html to see who is going - but every week so far there have been six or seven non-forumers showing up, so you can be pretty much guaranteed there will be people there every week for the next seven weeks, online list or not.
