I'd rather save up for a set of S&S than use that. It just looks like a poor effort at a GCSE project.

The cuts in the tubing look awful. It wouldn't last two crashes.

Doesn't fill me with confidence

Hola im marino Alegre from peru.
is my first proyect desmontable frame.
soon more info. -

¡Coño! :o

• #8507
clever seat tube junction!!
-
• #8508
could the seat post handle all that shear on it? but the seat tube junction does look more resolved than the bb. keep up the experimenting marino.

• #8509
it's basically just a ritchey breakaway, no?
-
• #8510
Yep, Seabass has played on one for years with no complaints.
-
• #8511
the lower coupler on the breakaway is quite similar to max power's new one. whereas marino's looks more like nate mumford from nyc's squarebuild frame. hopefully it'll be tested.

Hola
if I used the idea of the Ritchey, but I am making several changes, this bike is to withstand impact, and I think the weak point is the downtube on the Ritchey.
they think that way, the downtube is based on the bb.
gives greater rigidity.

I seem to recall he had an issue with the carbon forks though.
Oh and his front deep v... -

The flat plate on the Richey down tube helps disperse load and prevent slippage. With this design any slip means that tube end will be forced into the welds on the BB. It seems like more work to shape the tube round the BB than to fit a flat ring that the tube would simply butt against with no structural win for the extra work.
It's an interesting start. I'm curious just how much of a saving, both in cost and weight.

but only goes about 1.5 cm in the lower tube, I think that in bikepolo not stand, is not the same XC frame, with one pole in which there are many accidents.
I am introducing my prototype 5cm,
Ahun is just a prototype, and I'm hoping the criticisms and comments.
which help me a lot. -

I think we got crossed wires. What I was pointing out is that doing all the shaping at the end of the down tube to mate round the bottom bracket shell seems like a lot of work and that there is no butting of the end tube against the BB shell to spread load.
If you imagined that the end of the down tube was round and fitted flat to a ring around the post you have coming from the BB that it would be cleaner and help spread some of the load. The extra long 'stump' is definitely a good move.
I'll try and draw it ASCII style...
BB]=]== [====
Rather than
BB= }====
Hope that makes it easier to see what I mean.

Something like this?
Anyone know if this joint will be under tension or compression?

• #8518
Joint would be under tension. It would be trying to rotate using the seatpost clamp as a pivot, so not direct tension.

Whack some bolts through the flanges, Robert's your parent's brother.

Oh and his front deep v...ha, yeah he did!

After seeing everyone's reaction to my bike on the weekend I think I might leave it as is and just change for some flat bars. When I have the money I might get a custom with similar geo. Or if I grow the skills I'll make my own. Mainly due to weight and niggly annoyances.

Hello I'm finishing some orders, this weekend it will complete and will upload photos.
I have to test also. before putting it on sale.
now work in bikepolo handlebars.
Thanks -
• #8523
what is special about those bars?
-
• #8524
I'm guessing the rise and the flatness

3pmh have been making the same thing if anyone is interested.
Don't really know what the best place to put this is but Marino sent me an image of a coupled frame he is working on, might be worth enquiring about if anyone is considering ordering one shortly?
