  • massive grass fire on mountain over the sea from me, had I known a few hours ago would have gone down to beach with epic L glass mofo lens to capture fire + sunset + beach photos.
Guess mostly down to being too lazy lol

Literally got into bed, then about 10minutes later thought, fuck it, got to go see this, so drove out onto a hill and took some shots. Then thought FUCK, left my big lens at home (400/4), not even joking, 30seconds later, car drives up hill and approachs me....
another photo person, he asks what I'm shooting, then suggests I can borrow his 300/5.6
ACE. didn't even have to go home. happens all the time when I need another lens, someone just 'pops' up. Last time it was up a mountain in peru lol.

Even I have to admit its the worst photo ever, many reasons for it, mostly I think becaus I left the 'IS' on the borrowed lens turned on, which is great for 1/20th handheld shots, but nothing longer, even on a solid tripod it causes lens elements to jig around a little bit I think.

Fire was also moving pretty quick, even in 20/30minutes that I watched, it moved a fair old bit! When I left the mountain was silhouetted to the right, the moorland behind will be well alight by now and will likely burn most of tomorrow and maybe a bit longer!
