I've wondered about this myself, quick acceleration and tight turning could be a bonus but smaller wheels will never be the best solution in goal. Might be worth looking at DMR frames. Many of them are designed to take 24" or 26" wheels. The APS mount system they did (and which I have on my TrailStar2) means you can run V's with either size or discs.
