can anyone help me. i have a 27'' imac with thunderbolt and macbookpro with thunderbolt in some situations i want to use the macbook pro as a slave so i can keep tools in laptop and main viewing on imac is this possible? i cant seem to do it this way round making imac a slave is fine but i dont want it this way, i am using a thundebolt cable to do this
If you mean using the imac as an external display for the OS on the laptop, use target display mode on the imac. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3924
If you want both systems running at the same time, you might (as mr_tom suggested) want to use synergy, using the LAN/airdrop/ to move files around. http://synergy-foss.org/
If you mean you want to run your system on the imac and have access to the files on your laptop, just boot the laptop in target disk mode and connect to the imac via thunderbolt.
