Great stuff that was quick, I though John's one was going to be on CS7 so I cycled along that towards claphham south and didnt see it so came back via CS8 and saw it.
@Hoefla I live near here and have cycled past it loads of times but since todays BTOB had'nt looked up anything about it. Henry Doulton's brother, Frederick was MP for Lambeth in the 1860's. 1939 Gilbert Bayes created the friezes that showed the history of pottery through the ages. The factory building was demolished in 1978 and the friezes transferred to the Victoria & Albert Museum. The freize above the door shows potters and Sir Henry Doulton. The freize was done by George Tinworth, see here.
The Lambeth factory closed in 1956 due to clean air regulations preventing urban production of salt glaze. Following closure, work was transferred to The Potteries.
And as promised for Minh or anyone else that have 12 minutes of your life you don't want returning here Dropouts tag to mine, the long way round. I was also going to leave the film running and include the race back to my house and record the whole rushed upload process but go paranoid about having a film leading directly to my house and my lovely bat-cave of steeds so did'nt in the end, oh well.
