  • Are you a giant?

  • Are you a giant?

if your referring to the large image then yes...yes i am :)

  • I'm not convinced 42.6 miles at a 13.7mph average merits such an enormous image, frankly.

  • Was in Denmark with the gf a couple of weekends ago visiting her dad. Beautiful place - we're talking of heading over there on the ferry with the bikes to do a bit of light touring this summer.

Looks like a good route you did there :-)

Yesterday's 135km ride - without Merino and punctures. Sunshine except at the coastline where sea-fog developed

  • I wanted to go to Denmark before that TV programme, but I think I'm going to avoid it this summer as it will be full of Brits.

  • Let me know if you need tips on nice routes - Sealand is fixed paradise - sooo flat but lots of tiny cute hills :-)

  • I'm going to Finland. Full of Finns.to do.

  • Ah.Almac got the works! been to Bettys in Harrogate the girls in pinnies are truly delectable and the cake isn't bad either ;-) sound like a cracking weekend.

it was indeed a cracking weekend Jas..

Niall's missus was telling me about when they were in Betty's Harrogate one time and overheard an american tourist ordering a couple of 'fat bastards'.. i wonder whether the waitress/staff, managed to keep a straight face and if the patrons were:-

    a) horrified
    b) amused
    c) ROFL
twas great story and betty's was indeed a fab experience.

  • 60 miles of Kent and Surrey's finest including discovering the joy that is Hogtrough Hill.

wvm - I'm often down that way for a weekend spin. Have to hook up sometime.

  • A fair few very wet miles in Surrey on Saturday. We were supposed to do a loop taking us out to Turner's hill, but ended up in Redhill having ridden on a minging A road that nearly claimed Reece (Wrongcog, of this parish) under the wheels of a truck being driven by a total ratfink.

Beautiful countryside though, and now I've sussed the route I'm looking forward to heading back out there.

Some very steep hills led to Reece and I having a good view of Gavin's back wheel as he floated away from us...
There is a good resource for routes on the bigfoot cycle club website, if anyone is interested.

  • @Almac.
Being Yorkshire folk they were likely quietly amused.
    What a silly rascal eh?

  • Well Jason I still upset the locals in Spain.

I also Live on the Tuna Bay .. Atunara

  • Well Jason I still upset the locals in Spain.

I also Live on the Tuna Bay .. Atunara

Which judging by the post is idyllic enough to lend you enough free time to miss the frantic pace of life on old Blighty and wonder what interesting stuff were up to.

Anyway go and catch some tuna

  • ^ made me laugh - thanks for cheering up a shitty Friday..

  • Riding MCR to Derby today (55), perfect conditions. Having a snack at Parsley Hay, the bulk of the hard work done, managed to get a tow up Long Hill at 16mph thanks to 4 guys doing a century on single speeds - one a Rapha Team rider (called Dave I think).

Get yer factor 25+ out everyone, there'll be some burning today...

  • It was a lovely day to be out on the bike, I left at what my body insisted was 8am, but my clock said was an hour later, and zipped around 45 miles of Hampshire countryside.

  • 70 miles around yesterday in gloriously sunny Surrey. Went for tea and cake in Cranleigh via Peaslake.

I'm on target for 800 miles this month.

  • Rode a crit race at Hillingdon with Dov and Jaygee; 40 mins @ 26 mph = funnnn. Only 2 minutes a lap with plenty of coasting to recover between efforts. Hour of Power riders could easily get around nae problem.

  • Duly noted :)

  • Extra hard Paddington Bear stare towards 6pt who should probably be playing in the 2/3/4s

I'm a fat 40-yo and I did 2 laps out of 18 on the front in the wind whilst there were people breathing through their arses in the pack. Everyone should come out and play.

  • I put one in the calendar already after a little chat with dov and jaygee, we're thinking an organised strike might have some impact.

  • Did 59 miles in the end, 16mph average happy with that after zero proper training rides all winter.

20 notes and 3 hrs journey door to door for the train back was nearly enough to make me saddle up and ride it, would bonk pretty quickly tho and don't fancy that feeling.

  • Had there bike with me in North Essex this weekend and managed to get out for a ride, if only for a couple of hours.

Pleasant scenery, lovely sunshine and really flat. Nice.
