  • These are images taken on Sunday 19th March of people handling my stolen Cannondale Silk Road in Brick Lane market. They were taken by a follower of a friend on Twitter after I spread the word.

Do you recognize any of the people in the picture? Any information please get in touch at bigjoemuzz@gmail.com

  • *^ *It's a distinctive bike, to say the least. I hope you get it back. Hopefully someone will spot it.

  • Hey Hussy - Sorry, I've only just joined lfgss, so I can't send pm's.

They were spraying the bikes in the enclosed market on Sclater street. It was towards the back. I think the guy with blue sunglasses / spectacles was running the show.

I'm currently building a new bike. I won't let them keep me off the roads for long!

    Good luck.

  • First of all apologies if you are on here and this is your bike. really.

Basically I spoke to a lad (pictured below) who was on a blue Fort as I was on mine too. He waz walkenger. The chain was busted and I pointed him to the nearest LBS which was on Chapel market, N1.

Reason I'm posting this here is he looked quite alarmed (reasonable?) when I spoke to him and although we were on similar bikes, he had no interest or even seemed to know anything about the brand when I asked if it was US or Czech bloodline.

Again, if you're on here sorry for being overly suspicious! Dis iz London!

  • just seen this on gumtree

    http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/a-pinarello-racer-for-sale/98654504

    anyone recognise it? suspiciously cheap....

  • no way is that the actual bike. chris king, brooks etc? also photo is from velospace

  • just called.

    woman (not jake) picked up.

    sold.

  • Eurgh, no pleasure in posting this...

Had my bike stolen from near Liverpool Street at some point this afternoon.

Pinarello 58cm Metallic Red Frame w/Chrome forks and chrome Driveside Chainstay
    Brooks Colt Saddle
    Sugino Cranks with Salsa Chainring
Velospace Risers w/ Black Oury Grips
    Ultegra front brake
Mavic Open Sports on Ambrosio Hubs (currently set up with freewheel)
    Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres 25mm.

Seatpost bolts are filled with ballbearings so they'll struggle to get the seatpost out. Have notified the police, but would be very grateful if people kept an eye out...

Is Bricklane market open on weekdays too? Where's my best chance to recover this if they try to shift it on quickly?

Only photo I have is slightly old, now has pinarello decal back on it (white text on downtube), shifters removed, new tyres, and new saddle (all spec'd above)

    Cheers

  • was it locked?

try broadway market by the estate too...

  • I'm embarrassed to say no. No idea what I was thinking this morning, first and only time I've done something that stupid, and paying for it. Found my 2 mini evos in my bag this afternoon and my heart sank.

Are those markets open of a week too then, I've only ever really noticed them at the weekends....

  • Rear wheel stolen from bike locked on Church St, Stoke Newington.
Front wheel and frame locked to the rack.
Mavic MA2 on vintage Suzue fixed/free.
Marathon tyre, 17t freewheel + 15t fixed sprocket.

Not expecting it back but if anyone is offered a wheel or saw anyone carrying one over that way please let me know.

  • Stolen front wheel, left outside Kings X

Maybe it was your bike on gumtree?

  • Maybe it was your bike on gumtree?

Similar, but afraid not - if anyone spots this, there'll be a reward if anyone helps me recover this.

  • I'll keep an eye on said location at Broadway Market as it's just across the road from work and i see them all day every day.

of course it's not the same bike on the photo...

Is a pretty typical/common technique to post photo of similar bike but then show you a different one when you show up....bastards

  • ^gumtree ad even says about ultegra brake

  • ^gumtree ad even says about ultegra brake

Sigh, your right. Come to think of it, that's one of the few branded parts on it, quite a coincidence.

Sorry, I wasnt aware a different pic was a common trick.

So someone called this and it's sold? Surely ive got a chance of getting this back if Ive the number of the thief. Can I get the cycle task force involved, or is that wishful thinking?

  • Not a bike but some cunt has nicked the home-made bike rack from outside my office! Used to be about 100kg of rusty window security bars... Hopefully our bikes don't follow it.

  • oller i'd holler

  • Oller, it's definetely worth contacting cycle force.
I know few people who got their bikes back with their help.

  • Have got through to a very helpful officer at the City Police, chewed his ear off listing the entire spec so I can prove it's mine. He's trying to get resources now to look into it.

    Have contacted Cycle Force too.

    Appreciate your help with this.

Shall report any progress. It'd be nice to post a good news story at the end of this.
