  • Also for Lola big congrats for making it into the final and having her new PB!

Thank you! And wooohooo I'm still buzzing hahaha
Great company, amazing races, smashing my PB massively (and loosing in the final by only 0.2 second!), what a great day it was!

  • That final was soooo close. I thought the two pointers must have got stuck together at one point.

  • Haha yeah I know! Apparently one of the closest ever. Obviously not the fastest one, this time is still rubbish to compare with the Nationals. But I'm happy any way! And big thank you to everybody who was cheering for me, I really appreciate your support :-)
Dimi, Dom and Dan (3D?) you were amazing! Well done guys!
    Such a great event!

  • Great event, nice to see some familiar forum faces...

Was it me or could you not understand a word over the PA system?

  • Music was way to loud

  • PA was very mumbly

  • I think i was the guy in front of you in the LFGSS top:-) Was your fleece red?

Perosnally though, i think there is nothing wrong with asking that at all :-) ESP at an event where there will be a high number of peopel who will know what youre referring too ;-)
Apparently DH guys dominated. Something to do with the control of the bike and the tight corners.

    endless switchbacks I guess

  • Were you the broader of the two people in the lfgss tops

    Definitely.

  • PA was very mumbly

Good, I thought that it was my knowledge of English which was slipping.

  • "hummunnshmannannrrr-- arshhhmalllnnaaar-rbbb"

    all i could hear

  • There are some cracking up photos from Rollapaluza:

  • OMG! I look scary!

  • I wanted to write something about the facial expressions, but since you have posted in the meantime I cannot do it anymore....

  • Whatok, thanks for posting the vid!

  • Haha sorry man. You did good though!
    Nice bike, too!

  • Haha sorry man. You did good though!
    Nice bike, too!

Thanks! Hopefully do the shirt more proud next time....

  • I reckon like 90% of it must be technique...

  • Should have been in the drops and given it the beans.

Or have wide risers. From last year those were the only two ways that produced fast times

  • No one who got down in the drops did any good because it gave you the wrong riding position (too cramped and too much weight over the front end). Wide risers are definitely for the win, much better for pulling the bike round the corners, so perhaps next time! Gearing is a big thing too..

  • See!!! Track bikes with wide risers are so 2013!!!

this is mine as it stands

I hope that the image shows as i cant access tinypic from the work pc

  • The wide risers made for more subtle control of the line the bike took, much smoother.

You could see how some guys were hammering it, but the front was all over the place and the time spent correcting this slowed them down. Not to mention with your weight all over the front the rear would sometimes slip out, too.

  • Hey, CB, good to meet you at the weekend. You're totally right, Ben Simmons did it on some track bike with some wide risers on, seemed to work for him.

  • Was he the guy from Wiggle on the Focus?

Wicked looking bike with risers? Looked like fun!

  • Good meeting you too :-) I think we have met before, but im so bad with names and faces i think it should be obligatory that everyone has nametags.
