As film adaptations go Naked Lunch wasn't too bad and by far, for me, the best, most faithful translation of book to film was Ken Russell's adaptation of Paddy Chayefsky's Altered States.
both great movies, particularly altered states!

actually i think Scarlett J is the sexiest woman alive today,

• #5556
or it could be Isabella Rossalini,
-
• #5557
not now of course,
in her daythe ultimate beauty must be Sean Young, she played a raven haired beauty in one film, what was it now?

Went to a film event on Thurs eve loosely based on surveillance at the church by bethnal green station (church pews are uncomfortable!).
It featured the film: The Conversation.
The Conversation (1974) movie trailer - YouTube
And they showed this funny short shot in Dalston (I wonder if the casual man seen near the end was really the robber):
John Smith - The Girl Chewing Gum 1976 - YouTube

They chose very well then. The Conversation is a superb piece of work, with a shattering ending.

Yeah, it is a great film!
They also showed this:
"The first short will be the Bitnik collective’s ‘Chess for CCTV Operators’, a project based around hacking into surveillance camera signals in public space, in a three day intervention in the city of Essen. Using a video transmitter, antennae and a chess computer hidden in a portable suitcase, they kidnapped the original surveillance signal and replaced it with an invitation to play chess. The surveillance monitor in the control room was thus taken over from the outside and turned into a games console, overcoming the power structure produced by the surveillance situation.(Although during the three day intervention, none of the people monitoring the footage engaged in a chess game with Bitnik.)" -

I watched "Rambo" last night. Nothing else I particularly wanted to spend my evening viewing.
I didn't expect it to be as bad as it actually was. According to wiki, it has the highest kill total for any of that particular franchise. Rather alarming to see that a machine gun will cut people in half.
How is there still a market for these types of film? Stallone looked about one hundred and two...
Thankfully there will be no more.

Thankfully there will be no more.
Oh Comon,
Stop being a Kill Joy.
What the fuck do you expect seeing a Rambo Movie exactly? ... a "Frost vs Nikon Debate"...?
Entertainment is made for its audience.
Anyway My review of Expendibles is probably a 1000 posts back. I can't wait until number 2 comes out.
Did you feel intellectually superior about yourself after posting that?
