I've had similar occur to me coming along Tavistock Place/Gordon Square (though not with any exciting chase). I tend to avoid the awful bike path along this stretch and favour the road, many car drivers don't seem to appreciate this. On this particular occasion one of the white, unmarked vans with cameras on each corner overtakes with his window open and shouts something regarding getting on the bike path. I ignore and overtake at the next lights.
Next time he overtakes he starts to squeeze me into the curb. I bang on the side of the van; mostly to inform him of my position though I guess partly out of anger (he obviously was aware of where I was). Cue the van stopping, two thick-set guys jumping out, flashing me some form of ID before informing me that I've made a big mistake, whilst pointing at the cameras. It didn't take them too long to disappear once I'd suggested that anyone checking over the footage may want to review their own driving prior to finding fault with my behavior.
Stupidly I'd made a mental note of the number plate but then managed to forget it, lesson learnt, take notes immediately following any incident.
having never seen/heard of these vans before until I read this yesterday I was surprised to see one of these slow down along old street this morning just so the driver could give me the stink-eye as I was hobbling along the pavement on the other side of the road. he was seriously eye-balling me. was most odd.
