Damon paid for his way, just as Mansell did.
If Damon had said "I broke the lap record 11 times during that race" I get the feeling he wouldn't have then felt it necessary to add "Not once. 11 times."
I can forgive Mansell his personality however, because he was an incredible driver to watch, who never gave less than 100% and never gave up. It probably takes his kind of personality to come back from breaking his neck, breaking his back twice and the death of close friends like Ronnie Petersen, and the political manoeuvres of his teammates and still win the world championship.
