reeen that build is fucking awesome. Makes me wish I still had a track bike.
What frame is that?

Based on the knowledge of such setups I've gained from this forum, I think there is a 100% chance you will die, horribly. I'll be praying for your GF and sister tonight.
Based on my knowledge of riding bikes for over half my life a while I think they'll be just fine.

Guess the Pedal Consumption guys showed them how to do it right.

Reen, it looks great mate. What is the rear hub? oh and what is the black around the valve holes?
-

Replace "very" with "sub-par" and that is pretty much spot on...
I think two brakes look ugly, that's prob from my BMX background, maybe I will think about popping on extra brakes though, you make a compelling argument. -

I have "borrowed" my GF's bike a couple of times and always enjoy it... it's an Oribit track and can be thrown about like a big BMX... The brake is pretty good, a well set up and maintained calliper... there are a lot of people on the road with two brakes that barely work so it's a different league to that. I also saw someone with a SS and only a front brake, literally blew my mind, what's the point in that?

A surprisingly common sight sadly!

@AngelD oooh i like the giant omnium frames. what year is yours?
I think mine is a '07 frame, but its had a very new paint job in white pearl with a red flip courtesy of its previous owner rj1s.
Thinking its gonna be rather special once I get it done, if I can do it justice.
Currently have a set of battered Dura Ace cranks that I got off ebay for a song, the Campag front wheel and a white Fizik Arione saddle, just waiting for the Ritchey Superlogic carbon seatpost (will probably order matching stem) and more money to order more shiny!
Do like the look of the HplusSon rim with no braking surface, think it compliments your build very well, would like something similar for mine possibly, but then again, something lo profile might also work well...

But the law is stupid - imagine two cyclists who both hit pedestrians -
(1) Judge says - "I don't care how good your brake is, it is a legal requirement to have two. Have a big fine!"
(2) Judge says - "It's not your fault that you are too tight, stupid and lazy to buy a bike with decent brakes or maintain them properly. You had two brakes which you thought were OK, I'll let you off".
So you built the bike for yourself and she rides it sometimes? I must admit my girlfriend's bike is not quite to my taste so I think I might have to bur her a new one more to my tastes and sell her old one.
Ha! good points...
Nope, I built a bike solely for my gf, I just tested it for a day to make sure it all runs well as I do with all bikes I build for people, and have borrowed it once or twice when all my others were off the road... I do kep spending money on it though as my other bikes are all done.
"I have bought you a new seat post for your bike"
"I can't tell the difference"
"But this ones Campag Super Record and your other one was a £10 Condor post.."
"It was more shiney though!"
Brilliant. -

"It was more shiney though!"
To be fair, this reasoning informs many of my bike component purchasing decisions.

It really makes little sense... sure it can stop you but it isn't fun. I actually rode a MTB with only a front brake for a bit when I was a kid because I couldn't afford to buy a back one, ha. Lucky the hills in Norfolk were not that huge.

chrisbmx116 -Can of worms stuff i know but the 1 time that brake cable fails on a SS you'd wish your sister/gf had a second brake. it should be a simple decision. & Front brakes are more effective too. ah well....

Don't want to worry you but there seems to be a hole in your seat post.
Perhaps its a prototype/home made miche supertype
