Which way is the play? Is at a degree of rotation relative to the spindle or some axial movement at the pedal end, or a mixture of thee two? Not that I have any answers, beyond "buy new cranks and BB", but neither does anybody else without knowing what is moving and it which direction.
Lipstick on a pig?!
;)
the ibis? I am not certain the frame is exactly a pig - but I do enjoy the saying :)
The play on the cranks is vertical and horizontal - rotation relative to the spindle and axial - 1-2 mm. Fucking annoying it is. I assumed the answer is to buy new cranks - just dont want to do that just yet.... The splines look to be fine - so my fist impression was that I was missing a washer or otherwise - and if I look at the bolt on the non-drive side crank, I assume the previous-previous owner had the same issue as it looks pretty chewed up and he must have tried tightening to no avail... The guy I bought it off never rode it - it was too small for him, so he wasnt aware of the issue.
Anyway - I will try to find an assembly diagram for the cranks to see if I am missing anything in the assemble, failing that - get new cranks.
