I've spent the past three hours fucking around with paper and stick-tape making a prototype. Now I'm massively behind on my work. But at least I'm going to have a cool wallet one day : )
And maybe a whole set of shit.
Not actual shit. I'm not paying some bloke off the internet for something I can do myself.

after a chat on thursday, i came up with this
A travel wallet, left pocket for passport and bording pass, right pocket for notes and a credit card pocket.
What you charging for one of those to match my card wallet?
Want.

sadly, i have only the burgundy left, none of the dark brown.
unless i can find something similar?!?!?!? -

How are you going to get repeat custom without keeping people with extreme OCD for matching accessories happy!?
Let me know if you find some similar leather and we'll talk. :)

that was stock I had before when I was experimenting and hadn't sold anything, now I make sure i have plenty of the ones everyone seems to like.
and will do, even though the tough brown stuff i used on yours probably isn't suitable because it won't fold. -

I have a passport holder (not a trum one), my complaint with it is simple: The passport must never be able to fall out when the holder is closed.
In 12 years the leather has softened with time and use, and now the passport could come out if it's upside down in my bag.
It's a passport holder, and passports are valuable when used (can't travel without one).
Sew the top left of the holder to prevent the passport ever coming out unless the holder is intentionally opened.
And yes, that means boarding cards can't now fit... so put a pocket for those.
Of the things I'm willing to lose, the passport isn't it. You can still fly without a boarding pass as the gate would fix it for you. Not true of a passport.
And sure, it won't fall out today, it's new, and snug. But think of 12 years of use and don't allow the passport to be at risk even in that time frame.

I like the idea of your travel thingy upthread and liked the idea of two opposing flaps for notes.
But still retaining the the passport holder section - maybe.
But in terms of converting it into a practical every day wallet, it was missing a few things. Like a safe place for cards.
I'd ideally like at least 4 slots which are limited in size inside. Below is as far as the cards can be pushed in as I folded the material back on itself and secured it in place.
So I was thinking of something like this. Notes on the right under the bottom flap, then the top flap can be used for larger items like passport/tickets. Cards on the left. If there was a compartment UNDER the cards where the horizonal divide is on the left - awesome, but perhaps that's overkill.
Then I realised I'd made a fatal error.
That's a five pound note above stretch full length. And the wallet is too long for my liking. So with a twenty or, heaven forbid a fiddy dorra note, i'd have to fold a few centimetres in at one end - daft. That or have a really long wallet - do not want.
So I figured instead of having the bottom of the two opposing note flaps running diagonally, it could be a horizontal cut that ends a little over three quarters of the way up the top flap.
That way, notes can be folded in half below and remain secure, and it still leaves the top compartment available for loosely storing larger items.
Clearer pic:
So without further ado, 31trums and 31trummen, what about something like this:
Though only issue I see is that it it could be too thick - particularly the card section.
Having seen your photos of your plectrum holders, is there a way you could, instead of folding the material underneath to act as a cup to keep the cards in place; sew each layer down at the bottom - without it coming through on the back? Glue?
