in regards to sponsorship, i reckon i can get something sorted, but only if we can get the sponsors on the posters, as well as having some kind of coverage of the event, photos, video, writeup etc.
thoughts?
i still need to get the time booked off work :@
Ace news, Trist, I suppose the sooner we know the sponsors, the sooner we can get the artwork sorted for the poster.
With regards to the entry fee, I think you might be right. Seems a shame tho. Do you remember if they charged a fee when we went to Scotland? I guess we either charge a small entry fee or charge for food.
I think most of the experienced players will see some reffing duties at some point in the day.
Would be great if you can liaise with Col about likely team numbers, etc.
I'm gonna investigate materials for new goals tomorrow and report back.
I'll also print out brackets (Have we agreed a format?) once we've got an idea of the likely number of teams. I'll also sort the risk assessment.
As far as coverage of the event, I think we'll just have to take responsibility for it ourselves. Take pictures, a bit of video and a bit of a write-up. All of which can be posted on various blogs, forums, etc. We could even send an edited version to the local press. Journalists are notoriously lazy and will print stuff you send if it means they don't have to do much work, IME. I think we know a couple of people with decent cameras.....
I think we're getting closer.

If a sponsor wants to cash in on the polo tournament they can make their own posters.
