Been riding this around Birmingham for a while now, just given it a good clean, some new parts added, some old parts added, gone to 1/8 drive to see if its worth it. It definitely looks better before I put the mudguards, lights and panniers back on.

Welcome Andy.
You'll find practically everyone who uses the forum is a polo player - come and give it a go!

I normally ride home from work down Cheddar Rd on a Wednesday night at about half 8 just before the lights go out. I did stop to watch a couple of times, but haven't been tempted to join in yet. I'm crap enough at all the other sports I try let alone start a new one from scratch.

Yeah, there's about 4 beginners at the moment so you won't be thrown in at the deep end. Come and give it a try!

does anyone know where to find info about people riding fixed brakeless mtb's? all i can find is forums about those used for street and park riding and they're all SS, like this:
(which is still pretty cool!)but where are all the ones with toe straps and proper saddles that people ride on downhill trails?
-
• #620
You mean fixed gear freestyle bikes? (not sure what the proper name is?)
-
• #621
No i mean fixed gear mountain bikes with front sus. A few people out there must be doing it! So far I've found 1 video and a photo of one with brakes:

There's a couple in this area riding fixed off road but they usually have brakes.

Its rare because its silly. Ok for a short frolic but extremely awkward which prevents it from being anything more than a novelty.
I dont know if Im being too patronising here, but off road cycling involves being out of the saddle most of the time and bending your legs to get the bike over roots/rocks etc. That would be close to impossible without being able to freewheel. It also involves going very fast downhill and being able to back up using very low gears.
I reckon the closest thing you can sort-of commonly find, is off-road unicycling. Which is as 'fixed wheel' as it gets.
Anyway...
New polo bike finished.
