Child Seats - Advice

i was taken around in one of these as a kid. way more fun to sit up front and feel the wind than to be relegated to the back with dad's rucksack right in the face.

I am using a Hamax Siesta atm but I would love to get my boy in front of me on the top bar, but he is growing fast and he could possibly be hitting the weight limit on it within the next 12 months. How is that seat on the road however? is there much buffering? of course I suspect compared to the Hamax there is not the same level of suspension.
