Your headset will die quickly with the wrong topcap. A quick search of the interwebz reveals this is a common complaint, regarding the height of the FSA topcap. I have the carbon version on my BMC. To be honest I'm glad of the height, as that frame has a tiny headtube.
Chuck a flipped On-one stem on it. Comes in all sorts of angles, and lengths. I have 3 or 4 of them, and they work great.
