That Starck Aprillia was ugly as everliving sin, too. No excuses >>>>>>

Indeed, stick to lemon squeezers Phil, and leave bikes/motorbikes to people who know what they're doing.

I can assure you that Philippe Starck is a national shame down here

Is there a reason for the second crimp in the chain stay?

Crank clearance.

Makes sense, cheers.

Low// frames have them, personally I think it's an ugly solution, clearance could be achieved by using differently formed tubes which could be prettier.
-
• #22965
It's not like it's difficult to bend tubes either. Classic forks are still bent around a fromer by hand now.

Some frame makers are trying to use the shortest chainstays possible. So a striaght as possible tube, with a dent in it, is the best solution to them.

Its a beautiful solution in fact I think that frames that have it go twice as fast.

must be super comfy though
The actual design (making sure it worked) was done by proper engineers. And it was the dull-as-ditchwater 'Priller 650, so it didn't need to be at the cutting edge of motorcycle dynamics.
