I've thought a lot about these online back up things. I use dropbox a lot, and that works great for current stuff I need to back up (work, photos, etc)
For a everything backup though, I'd need about 750GB's worth of storage, and even if it's financially viable in the cloud, restoring it would take days, and Virgin Media won't be happy...
you can use crashplan for local backups too if you set up an old machine as a dump, thats the thing with the uk ISPs they fucking suck we are so behind with our connections.. there are people in Uganda with 100Mb connections to their huts and we're still getting offered "up to 10Mb" and *Unlimited downloads *we dont mean unlimited really so fuck you and hurry up and sign up already ..........caaaaaaaaaaaants! /rant
