I think my inherited-fae-granny 'speakers are KEF, unfeasibly sensitive to tone controls: prominent mids when run flat but stick a loudness filter over it and they boom right down to 40Hz :-p James Blake nearly had 'em off the bookshelf! depth over clarity, love it.
Re old labs - headroom sure is ;-) Running at 11? need more power in your amp mate!
Oh, and Dubstep's over baby - so my 6yr old says. It's played on Radio 1 .'. no longer cool. As far as I can tell dancemusic's moving back to the late 90's - nae bad thing.
